Val Weaver, a  dance  teacher for the past 40 years, hung up her shoes after a final personal performance at a farewell ceremony at Orange Lutheran High School. Val initially gave lessons as part of the City of Orange recreation department  program, and then, 33  years  ago,  opened  her  own studio at Taft and Tustin. The Val Weaver Dance Center will continue at this location with Jeanne Estrin at the helm.

Weaver’s  students  have  performed  at  the  Orange  International  Street  Fair  on  Saturday mornings for the past 33 years. The  tradition  goes  back  even further, as her city students performed on the back of a flat bed truck 40 years ago.
