Florene (Flo) Bennett Mattson, 76, of Orange, passed away on Jan. 5, surrounded by family and friends.
She was born Aug. 18, 1943, in Metcalfe County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Homer and Blanche Marie Bennett. She was the fifth of 11 children. She married Lloyd Ellwood Mattson on June 25, 1966 in Santa Ana.
She worked in collections for most of her career for companies such as O’Neill Moving and McDonnell Douglas, Inc. She retired in 2013 from Marion Technologies, Inc. as a senior collection specialist.
She is survived by her husband, Lloyd; son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Janette Mattson of Orange; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Diane Mattson of North Ogden, Utah; grandchildren, Spencer, Luke and Rebecca Mattson of Orange; brothers and sisters, Donnie Bennett, Betty Lowery, Harold Bennett, Linda Priore, Jimmy Bennett and Sharon Steele. Her brothers and sisters that preceded her in death were Odell Bennett, Valera Fudge, Lois Conrad and Eldene Bennett.
A Celebration of Flo’s Life will be held on Feb. 8, between 2 and 4 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 2400 N. Canal St., in the Parish Hall.
