The Orange County Fair is the culmination of a year’s work for Orange Acres Backbreakers 4-H Club animal project members. The 4-H’ers raised goats, steers and pigs, working throughout the year, under the leadership of Sergio Picasso, Vern Kay and Fay Kay, to participate in showmanship and market classes.

In the goat market class, Leo Picasso and Alexus Caudle earned sixth place ribbons, William Gallegoes took seventh, and Hamzah Yamani won eighth in their respective weight classes. Sergio Picasso placed sixth in the beef market class, and earned a fifth in beef showmanship.

The results for the pig market classes: Bryson Sara took second place; Sergio Picasso placed third; Abigael May won a fourth; Cameron Stephen and Erin Perex earned ribbons for fifth; Ryan Jeltema and Alexus Caudle took home sixth place ribbons.

In pig showmanship, Bryson Sara won fifth place, and Cameron Stephen took fifth in their age classes. Abigael May’s chickens took third in lightweight broilers, and her two rabbits placed third and fifth out of a field of 30. Cameron Stephen’s lightweight broilers won second place.
